Training

 It is important for everyone that supports a Scout be oriented to the Scouting Program and receive the benefit of the current knowledge base. A minimum course curriculum is necessary to initiate and continue involvement in Scouting. Print and submit a copy of the Certificate of Completion for each course to the Training Coordinator to be kept on file for the Troop.
 
Required Training for Everyone who volunteers in any capacity,
                                                               including providing transportation: 
  • Youth Protection Training (should be completed within 30 days of becoming a volunteer) 
Required Training Committee Members/Assistant Scoutmasters:
 
  • Fast Start: Boy Scouting
 Required Training - Assistant Scoutmasters/Committee Members who attend Camp Outs:
 
  • Weather Hazards 
  • Trek Safety 
  • Safety Afloat 
  • Safe Swim Defense 
Committee Volunteers should also complete Troop Committee Challenge Training

These necessary courses are designed to be taken on-line. Print the Certificate of Completion and submit a copy to Troop 533 Training Coordinator.

The deadline for all Committee Members and Assistant Scoutmasters to complete the Youth Protection Training (YPT) and Fast Start: Boy Scouting .
 
Volunteers not new to Troop 533 should re-take the required courses if they are outside the timeline of the training period (for example – Youth Protection Training (YPT) needs to be re-taken every 2 years and the Certificate of Completion on file with the Troop). 
Deadline for re-training is also March 30th.
